VMware vSphere Storage API integration

HP works closely with VMware to integrate with the vSphere Storage API program to improve performance, efficiency, scalability and resource utilization.

•  vSphere Storage APIs - Array Integration (VAAI) – enables storage array offload capabilities that greatly enhance performance through Full Copy, Block Zeroing, and Hardware Assisted Locking primitives and storage efficiency through reclamation of unused space and monitoring thin-provisioned LUNs space usage.

•  vSphere Storage APIs - Storage Awareness (VASA) – enables unprecedented coordination between vSphere/vCenter and storage arrays. It provides built-in storage insight in vCenter to support intelligent VM storage provisioning, bolster storage troubleshooting, and enable new DRS-related use cases for storage. HP supports VASA via a downloadable provider.
