Integrity solutions for Oracle database
More and more, databases are the business, not just a part of it. ERP system and software tools control workflow and business intelligence tools drive decision-making. Both these critical applications run on databases. According to IDC, the Oracle production server database has a 44% market share, and HP has created a database integration solution for midsize businesses with pre-configured system configurations that optimize Oracle database implementations.

Oracle Database

The HP Integrity Solution for Oracle Database is an Oracle implementation system configuration that has been verified and tested as an Oracle 10g database server. The solution consists of:

  • An entry-class HP Integrity rx2660 Server or a BL860c Integrity server blade. These two servers are low-cost, easy to deploy and simple to administer.
  • A verified solution configuration, including the server or server blade with:
    o The HP-UX 11i operating system
    o HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite (SMS) for
       database acceleration
    o Ready for you to use your own Oracle 10g database licenses
       and software

The HP-UX 11i operating system boasts industry-leading virtualization capabilities, up to 99.999% high availability, streamlined manageability and in-depth security. These attributes make it the ideal operating system for an HP Integrity Oracle implementation.

HP SMS offers HP Oracle Disk Manager (ODM), which uses low-level access to the disks, making it look like a file system when really it’s in near-raw mode. Performance, availability and manageability are the three indispensable benefits SMS brings to an Oracle implementation.
